Arts and Culture

The arts community in St. John’s is creative, dynamic and widely recognized. The arts sector plays an integral role in the economy and quality of life of the city, region and province.

The City of St. John's has identified the arts as a strategic sector in Roadmap 2021: A Strategic Economic Plan for St. John's. The City has also adopted a Municipal Arts Plan.

Film Industry

Newfoundland and Labrador Film Development Corporation (NLFDC)

The NLFDC has been mandated to promote the development of the indigenous film and video industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as to promote the Province in national and international film and video markets as a location for film, television, and commercial productions.
