Association for New Canadians World Refugee Day Exhibit at City Hall

Residents of the City of St. John’s are invited to view a special display by newcomer refugees showing their personal reflections of St. John’s.

The displays will be portrait style head shots of newcomers who are clients of the Association for New Canadians accompanied by short reflections detailing why they like living in St. John’s and why they feel at home here.

The exhibit opening, titled ‘I am Home, coincides with World Refugee Day and will be open to the public, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 21 to July 6, 2018 and features newcomers representing over ten countries of origin.

The City was delighted to continue our partnership with the ANC on the project to provide the public with an opportunity to see through the eyes of these newcomers what home means to them and learn about their experiences of settling and integrating into the Province.
