The City of St. John’s invites residents and visitors to our Canada Day celebrations on July 1. All City of St. John's Canada Day events are free to attend, are accessible and everyone is welcome. These events are funded in part by the Government of Canada.

6-7 a.m.
Sunrise Event
Signal Hill National Historic Site

Be among the first in the country to start the Canada Day celebrations. A free Metrobus shuttle will bring you from the Signal Hill Visitor Centre up to Cabot Tower. After the return shuttle, join everyone for free birthday cupcakes in the Signal Hill Visitor Centre.

1-5 p.m.
Family Celebration and Cultural Concert
King George V Park

Inclement weather location: Techniplex
A full afternoon of free family fun and entertainment includes bouncers, balloon twisters, face painting, interactive games, a cultural concert, free birthday cupcakes and much more. The Bridges to Hope food bank will be onsite collecting nonperishable donations. Pets are not permitted at King George V Park or in the Techniplex; service animals are welcome.

8-10:15 p.m.
Carolina East Concert, Quidi Vidi Lake Bandstand
Fireworks, over Quidi Vidi Lake

The evening will be sure to entertain with a live concert featuring Carolina East; all are welcome to attend this free concert.
The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Should weather conditions not be ideal, the fireworks will be rescheduled for July 2 at 10 p.m.
Pet owners are reminded to keep their pets inside during the fireworks display.
