Get Into It this Winter

The Winter Activity Centre at Pippy Park, in the North Bank Lodge, opened for the season on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020.
 
The Bowring Park Winter Activity Centre, in the pool house, is scheduled to open 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.
 
There is no cost to use the trails at Pippy Park or Bowring Park; bring your own snowshoes or skis to enjoy the park trails from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
 
Equipment, suitable for all ages, can be rented per hour and cost $5 single, $10 for a family of three, and $15 for a family of four or more.

Hours of operation for the Winter Activity Centre’s are:
 
Pippy Park, ski and snowshoe rentals

• Tuesday and Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m.
• Friday, 6 to 10 p.m.
• Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Bowring Park, snowshoe rentals only

• Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Adaptive equipment is available to individuals who require their use. A cross country ski sledge and snow coach are available at the Pippy Park Centre, first come first served. Equipment can be pre-booked by calling 576-6972 or emailing inclusion@stjohns.ca.
 
As snow conditions can change, call the Info Line at 737-3651 to learn updated facility operations and trail conditions.
