1933-1958 City Councils

The first St. John's Municipal Council was elected in 1888 but it was not until 1902 that the residents of St. John's elected their first Mayor.

1943 Edward Lawrence and John T. Meaney died while in office. Their seats were filled Allan M. Fraser and H.G.R. Mews in a by-election later that same year.
