Artist Selected to Complete Victoria Street Area Mural

The City of St. John’s is pleased to announce that Kathy Oke has been chosen to complete the mural on the walls in the area of the Victoria Street steps.
 
Kathy Oke is a multi-disciplinary artist based in St. John’s, where she has completed a number of mural projects in the past. She completed the Visual Arts Program at the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
 
The design concept will be fine-tuned in consultation with a committee representing City Council and Staff, the visual arts community, and other community stakeholders. The mural is scheduled to be completed by October 2014.
