Assessment Division Going Door-to-Door

Street in Kenmount Terrace

As part of the municipal property assessment process, the City of St. John’s is conducting door-to-door visits in various neighbourhoods throughout the city and staff may very well be knocking on your door over the next few months.

“It is extremely important that we have accurate information on file for properties in the City,” said Councillor Danny Breen, Chair of the Finance and Administration Standing Committee. “The information that we collect over the next few months will assist staff in accurately updating our property records.”

Field inspections take place throughout the year; however, additional staff are hired from May to September to collect further information. Staff will visit residential properties to ask for information and may request to enter the property for an inspection. They may also measure the property, take photos and enter the rear yard to collect data.

Please note that City employees will always wear City of St. John’s safety vests and will always carry City issued identification.

The City thanks the public in advance for their cooperation as we conduct this important work throughout our community.
