Mayor Dennis O’Keefe, Chair of Cruise St. John’s, is pleased to announce that the cruise ship Carnival Legend will be visiting St. John’s on Monday, October 7, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Carnival Legend, which carries 2,667 passengers and 930 crew, will be visiting the City as part of a 15 day transatlantic crossing that began in Dover, England on September 25. The cruise has included port calls to Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Iceland and Greenland before St. John’s, which is the ship’s last port of call before the cruise ends in New York City.

“The Carnival Legend visited St. John’s on its inaugural voyage in 2002 and we’re delighted to see the vessel returning again this season”, said Mayor O’Keefe. “This visit gives the passengers and crew an opportunity to see the sights and sounds the City of St. John’s has to offer.” The vessel is scheduled to return to St. John’s again on a transatlantic crossing in September, 2014.

The Carnival Legend’s visit to St. John’s will mark the conclusion of the port city’s 2013 cruise season.
