Celebrate National Child Day

November 20 is National Child Day in Canada, a day to celebrate the rights of children everywhere to live happy, healthy lives, and to ensure they reach their full potential.
 
This City of St. John’s is celebrating National Child Day with a week of free events from Sunday, Nov. 18 to Saturday, Nov. 24; check the City’s website calendar of events for details.
 
Some of the weeks key events/activities include:
 
#KidsTakeOver
Use the hashtag #KidsTakeOver on social media posts to celebrate children taking part in activities and issues that matter to them.
 
City Councillors will be using #KidsTakeOver on their social media accounts to respond to questions and comments posed by children in City programs.
 
Wear blue on Tuesday, Nov. 20 in support of National Child Day.
 
 
Move it Family Fun Day
Families of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join City staff for an afternoon of physical activity and fun.

NL Sports Centre, 100 Crosbie Road
Free admission
 
The event is free to attend, however, monetary donations are being accepted for the REAL Program, to provide recreation and leisure opportunities to children and youth in financial need.
