Celebrate National Child Day

November 20 is National Child Day in Canada, a day to celebrate the rights of children everywhere to live happy, healthy lives, and to ensure they reach their full potential.

This City of St. John’s is celebrating National Child Day with a week of free events from Sunday, Nov. 17 to Saturday, Nov. 23; check the City’s website calendar of events for details.

Some of the key events/activities include:

Watch the #GoBlue video from UNICEF and sign the petition to call on world leaders to acknowledge the rights of every child; find both at https://www.unicef.org/world-childrens-day.
 
Wear blue on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in support of National Child Day.
 
Move it Family Fun Day
Families of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join City staff for an afternoon of physical activity and fun.

Saturday, Nov. 23
NL Sports Centre, 100 Crosbie Road
Free admission

The event is free to attend, however, monetary donations are being accepted for the REAL Program, to provide recreation and leisure opportunities to children and youth in financial need.
