​Celebrate St. John's Days and Canada Day

The City of St. John’s invites residents to celebrate St. John’s Days from June 22-24 and Canada Day on July 1. Free events to appeal to all ages and interests are scheduled to take place at several locations during both celebrations.
 
The St. John’s Days festivities begin at noon on Friday, June 22 when Mayor Danny Breen will be joined by members of the Association for New Canadians at Signal Hill National Historic Site to fire the Noon Day Gun.
 
Numerous events and activities are taking place during St. John’s Days including the first Music @ Harbourside outdoor concert of the season, a mural running tour and public art crawl, and a family fun afternoon in Bannerman Park.
 
On Sunday, July 1 Canada Day celebrations begin with a sunrise event on Signal Hill National Historic Site at 6 a.m. The afternoon festivities take place at King George V Park near Quidi Vidi Lake, with a family celebration and cultural concert beginning at 2 p.m. An evening concert featuring Greely’s Reel starts at 8 p.m. at Quidi Vidi Lake followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.
