City Seeking Input Through Budget Consultations

The City of St. John’s is holding budget consultations to provide residents and interest groups the opportunity to give input on the City’s 2014 budget.
 
The sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Session 1: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 7 to 9 p.m. in the E.B. Foran Room, City Hall
  • Session 2: Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 to 11 a.m. at the Capital Hotel, 208 Kenmount Road

The first session will include an overview by the City’s Department of Finance and allow opportunity for presentations by organizations or individuals. Those interested in making a presentation must register in advance by e-mail at budget@stjohns.ca or phone (709) 576-8619 or (709) 576-8620. General attendance does not require registration.
 
The second consultation session is a Budget Forum which will be conducted by a facilitator. This session will feature a roundtable discussion of municipal issues pertinent to the budgetary process. Interested participants are asked to register in advance by e-mail at budget@stjohns.ca or phone (709) 576-8619 or (709) 576-8620.
 
Registration is now open and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 4:30 p.m. Space is limited.
