City Urges Caution on Bodies of Water

Friday, December 13, 2013 - 11:30 AM
Winter scene, showing thin ice on body of water

The City of St. John’s would like to remind residents that although the weather of late has been cold, we have not had enough sustained cold to sufficiently freeze bodies of water, such as ponds and lakes, for recreational use. Residents are urged to please avoid any type of recreational activity on local bodies of water due to the risk of the thin ice breaking.

The City thanks residents for their cooperation.
