The final day to mail in your ballot is fast approaching and residents are reminded to cast their vote for the next City of St. John’s Council.

Residents have until Sept. 19 to mail their ballot to ensure it is received by the City for election day. After that date, residents may still return their ballot to the drop box in front of City Hall. On election day, Sept. 24, the City will also have a satellite drop-off located in each ward where vote by mail kits can be dropped off or completed.

Residents should ensure that the following steps are followed before sending their ballot back to the City:

  • Has your ballot been sealed securely in the ballot secrecy envelope and enclosed?
  • Is your declaration form signed and enclosed?
  • Is the mailing address visible through the window of the yellow envelope?

Residents who have not received their vote by mail kit yet should call Access St. John’s at 311 or 754-CITY (2489). Please note that the City can no longer send out vote by mail kits by mail as it does not allow time for them to arrive and return. The City can however prepare a kit for pick-up at City Hall up to Sept. 23 for anyone still wishing to vote who has not received a vote by mail kit.

For more information on the election please visit the election section of the City's website.
