First World War Grant Program Details announced

On July 16, the City of St. John’s announced a framework for its First World War Commemorative Program. The program will have three key components: a legacy project, a grants program and an opportunity for City departments to offer existing programs and services around a First World War theme.
 
The First World War Commemorative Grants Program will provide grants to community groups and organizations seeking financial and/or in-kind support for their projects, activities, programs and events commemorating the First World War. Eligible projects include:

  • Educational materials, seminars, websites and publications
  • Commemorative events and activities
  • Plaques, historical markers and monuments
  • Development of public exhibits
  • Other relevant cultural and community development projects

Organizations may apply for funding grants and/or in-kind assistance for the period of 2014 – 2018.
