Kenmount Road Construction Starts in June

Tuesday, May 26, 2020 - 11:00 AM

Construction work to continue upgrading storm sewer infrastructure on Kenmount Road will resume in early June from the area of Peet Street to Pippy Place. Work is expected to begin during the first week of June and will continue for approximately six months.

Hours of construction are Monday to Friday, and every second Saturday, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Occupational Health and Safety measures will be implemented based on the latest guidelines recommended for COVID-19.

The City is currently working with business and property owners located in this section to minimize impact to businesses.

Traffic on Kenmount Road will be maintained with one lane in each direction; however, disruptions and slowdowns are expected. Pedestrian access will be maintained on one side of the road during construction. A traffic advisory will be issued prior to construction starting.

This is the third year of construction work required to upgrade the storm sewer along Kenmount Road to the Team Gushue Highway overpass. Visit engagestjohns.ca to learn more about the project and stay up to date as work progresses.
