Labour Day City Schedule

Residents are advised that due to the Labour Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2 City offices are closed. The next City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m.
 
Recreation Facilities
On Monday, Sept. 2, all City of St. John's recreation facilities will be closed. Please note that Sept. 2 is also the final day the Bowring Park Splash Pad will be open for the season.
 
Parking
The City of St. John's will not enforce the Parking Meter Regulations on Monday, Sept. 2 as the Labour Day holiday is an observed holiday under the Provincial Shop Closing Act.
 
Garbage and Recycling Collection
Garbage and recycling collection will not occur on Monday, Sept. 2. Garbage pick-up for areas 1A and 1B, and recycling for area 1A, will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Residents in areas 2A (garbage and recycling) and 2B (garbage) will have no change to their schedule and pick-up will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 3, although the collection time will be later than usual. Residents are reminded that garbage and recyclables are not permitted to be put out for collection before 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
 
Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility
The Residential Drop-Off at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is closed on Monday, Sept. 2 as it is regularly closed on Mondays. The landfill at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is also closed for the Labour Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2.
 
Humane Services
The Humane Services Shelter at 81 Higgins Line will be closed for the Labour Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2.
 
Visitor Information Centres
The City’s Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street is open for the Labour Day holiday on Monday, Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 
The Quidi Vidi Village Plantation Visitor Information Centre at 10 Maple View Place is closed on Monday, Sept. 2 as it is regularly closed on Mondays.
 
Access St. John’s
The Access St. John’s Call Centre staff are always available and residents with questions or concerns can call them at 311 or (709) 754-CITY (2489). However, front counter service will not be available at the Access St. John’s Citizen Service Centre on Monday, Sept. 2 due to City Hall being closed for the holiday.
