Labour Day Holiday City Schedule

Due to the Labour Day holiday on Monday, September 1 all City offices and facilities will be closed with the exception of:

• The Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
• The Bowring Park Splashpad will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. This is its last day of operation for 2014; and,
• The Access St. John’s Call Centre, which is available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. (The Access front counter service at City Hall will be unavailable).

Most City services are affected by the Labour Day holiday:

• There is no waste collection on Monday, Sept. 1. Garbage collection for areas 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B, and recycling collection in areas 1A and 2A will take place on Tuesday, September 2. Collection time may be later than usual.
• Parking meter regulations will not be enforced on Monday, September 1.

The City of St. John’s Council Meeting, regularly scheduled for Monday, September 1, will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2.
