Naming the Paul J. Johnson Playground

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 - 3:30 PM

Mayor Dennis O’Keefe announced during City Council meeting on Monday, July 24 that the playground to be built at the new Paul Reynolds Community Centre will be named after the late Paul J. Johnson.

“Paul Johnson was an amazing man who had a great love for Newfoundland and Labrador and the City of St. John's,” said Mayor O’Keefe. “His contribution to the quality of life in the City of St. John's is outstanding and reflects his philosophy of life.  He has given back to his city and province in a large way and our naming the 'Paul J. Johnson Playground' is a small recognition of his contributions.”

The construction of the playground will begin in the fall. The playground will include a rubber surface, a multi structure with four swings, benches and inclusive amenities.
