National Housing Day Events in St. John’s

National Housing Day marks the impact and achievements of the housing sector, and all those who ensure housing for people in Canada.

The City of St. John’s is recognizing National Housing Day starting with a proclamation signing on Monday, Nov. 18 at the start of the City Council meeting. There are several free, public events during the week:

Film Screening and Panel Discussion - Tuesday, Nov. 19
6 to 9:30 p.m.
Bruneau Centre for Research and Innovation, Memorial University
The City of St. John's and End Homelessness St. John's host a screening of ‘Push’ a documentary film about the global housing crisis, followed by a panel discussion about the local housing sector. Admission is free and space is limited; reserve your free ticket on Eventbrite.

Housing Forum - Wednesday, Nov. 20
8:30 a.m. to noon
Emera Innovation Exchange, Signal Hill Campus, 100 Signal Hill Road
The City of St. John’s in partnership with Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporation are hosting this event. Admission is free and space is limited; reserve your free ticket on Eventbrite.

Coffee Break - Friday, Nov. 22
10 to 11 a.m.
Wyatt (Great) Hall, City Hall, 120 New Gower Street 
Join us for a coffee, a cupcake and a few words on housing. Take in the community collaborative art project ‘What makes a house a home?’
