Nominations Open for 2018 Heritage Awards

The City of St. John’s is accepting nominations for the 2018 Heritage Awards for outstanding work on Heritage Buildings and other buildings in the City’s Heritage Areas.
 
Downtown Heritage Areas are the heart and soul of St. John's. These awards recognize commercial and residential property owners for their work in rehabilitating, restoring and celebrating our rich built heritage.
 
Citizens are encouraged to nominate a property that is deserving of this recognition, and property owners are also encouraged to nominate their own property.
 
Nominations are accepted for categories:

• Preserving or restoring the original character of a Heritage Building or any building in a Heritage Area;
• Rehabilitating an older building, including successfully integrating modern elements;
• Respecting the character of a modern building in a Heritage Area;
• Infill developments that blend into a neighborhood in a Heritage Area;
• Stewardship and long-term preservation of a Heritage Building or any building in a Heritage Area. 

Deadline for nominations is Friday, January 26, 2018. Heritage Day Awards are scheduled to take place on Monday, February 19, 2018.
