The City of St. John's invites everyone to ring in the New Year with a free concert featuring the Navigators next to the Quidi Vidi Lake boathouse. Bring the family down to the lake for an outdoor concert starting at 10 p.m. followed by a countdown to the New Year and a brilliant fireworks display at midnight.

“We are very excited to announce that the Navigators will be headlining our New Year’s Eve event this year,” said Mayor Danny Breen. “Last year we had tremendous success with our Canada 150 Celebrations and we will again offer a live concert on New Year’s Eve.”

This all ages event will also include host Danielle Butt from NTV and complimentary party favors while supplies last. The concert and fireworks will be featured on NTV beginning at 10:30 p.m.

“Our city is one of the first in North American to ring in 2018,” said Councillor Jamie Korab, Council Lead of Community Services and Special Events. “I encourage you to bundle up and come enjoy the show with your family and friends.”

"We are excited to ring in the New Year along with the residents of St. John's ‎who will be singing and dancing to all our favorite songs," said a statement by the Navigators.

Accessible parking will be available at the Dominion Memorial Stadium Parking Lot.

If the fireworks are unable to proceed due to weather, the concert will be re-scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 1, with fireworks immediately following.
