The public consultation process now underway for Kelly’s Brook Shared-Use Path will be extended to February 28.

To date, 1500 individuals have visited engagestjohns.ca to learn more about this project, ask questions, and share their ideas.

The page includes a survey on how you plan to use the pathway and will help inform design decisions around features like lighting, surface materials, path alignment, trailheads, rest areas, and wayfinding. More than 500 surveys have been completed and we continue to encourage individuals to complete the survey before the new deadline on February 28.

A focus group and two public information sessions have been completed with 100 individuals providing their feedback to the design team. The project team has also met with several stakeholder groups such as the City's advisory committees for seniors, inclusion, and biking as well as the Environmental and Sustainability Experts Panel along with groups at Memorial University. Stakeholder meetings will conclude soon with property owners on Empire Avenue between King's Bridge Road and Carpasian Road, as well as other potential street paths on the trail, and we will also be meeting with the City's Youth Strategy Team.

A new resource added to the site this week is a background document on surface materials, prepared by the consultants for City Council.
