St. John's Celebrates National Youth Week

The City of St. John's celebrates National Youth Week from May 1 to 7 with several free-of-charge events. National Youth Week recognizes youth and their active participation in the community whether it is through theatre, recreation, sport, art, volunteering, leadership or community engagement.

Congratulations to the 2017 Youth of the Year award winners Zaira Freda (Junior) and Jamin Tamang (Senior) who will attend the City Council meeting on Monday, May 1 to officially proclaim National Youth Week in the City of St. John’s.

Youth Art Exhibit Opening Reception - Mon. May 1 
The public are invited to the opening reception of art produced by St. John’s youth from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Great Hall, City Hall. The exhibit will be on display until Sunday, May 7.

Carnival - Tues. May 2 
Youth ages 12 to 18 are invited to the Southlands Community Centre, 40 Teakwood Drive, for a Carnival from 7 to 8:30 p.m. featuring a magician, Sky High Amusements, prizes and much more!

Swim - Sat. May 6 
Take the plunge and enjoy the youth swim at H. G. R. Mews Community Centre from 3 to 3:50 p.m.
