Thanksgiving Day Holiday City Schedule

Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday on Monday, Oct. 9 all City offices and facilities will be closed. Please note the following:

• Parking meter regulations will not be enforced.
• Access St. John’s front counter service will be closed, however the Access St. John’s call centre is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489) or online. 
• There is no waste collection on Thanksgiving Day. For this week only, garbage and recycling collection occurs the day after regular pick up day in all areas - including a Saturday pick up for Area 5. Waste collection returns to the normal fixed schedule beginning Monday, Oct. 16. Sign up for reminders.

• Tuesday, Oct. 10: garbage Areas 1A/B, recycling Area 1A
• Wednesday, Oct. 11: garbage Areas 2A/B, recycling Area 2A
• Thursday, Oct. 12: garbage Areas 3A/B, recycling Area 3A
• Friday, Oct. 13: garbage Areas 4A/B, recycling Area 4A
• Saturday, Oct. 14: garbage Area 5A/B, recycling Area 5A 

The newly elected City Council will be sworn in to office at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct.10 in Council Chambers. A brief Council meeting will take place following the ceremony.
