Victoria Day City Schedule

Residents are advised that due to the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 20 City offices will be closed. The City Council meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 21 at 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Facilities
City of St. John’s recreation facilities are closed Monday, May 20, due to the Victoria Day holiday.

Parking
The City of St. John's will not enforce the Parking Meter Regulations on Monday, May 20 as the Victoria Day holiday is an observed holiday under the Provincial Shop Closing Act.

Garbage and Recycling Collection
Residents of areas 1A and 1B are reminded that due to the holiday, garbage normally collected on Monday, May 20 will be collected on Tuesday, May 21, along with Tuesday’s regularly scheduled collection. Recyclables in area 1B will also be collected on Tuesday, May 21, along with Tuesday's regularly scheduled collection. Areas 1A and 1B will revert to the normal Monday collection day the following week. Please follow the schedule in your 2013 collection calendar.

Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility
The landfill at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is closed for commercial users on Monday, May 20, however it will be open Saturday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and open during regular hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21.

The Residential Drop-Off at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is always closed on Mondays as per its regular schedule. It is open to serve residents of the eastern region of the province every week from Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. excluding holidays.

Humane Services
The Humane Services Shelter on 81 Higgins Line will be closed for the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 20.

Visitor Information Centre
The City’s Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street is open for the Victoria Day holiday on Monday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
