Wedgewood Park Sod Turning and Naming Ceremony

Construction has begun on a new community centre for Wedgewood Park. Originally announced in 2012, site work has recently begun on the new $32 million facility.

At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 20, members of Council, dignitaries and others involved in the project will be on hand to officially turn sod on the project and to announce the name of the new facility.

Ceremonies will take place on the site, which is adjacent to the existing Wedgewood Park Recreation Centre, 47 Gleneyre Street. A community bbq inside the centre will follow. If you plan to attend the bbq, please email recreation@stjohns.ca.

Please note: due to ongoing construction, parking at the centre is limited.
