Cancelled - Public Hearing - 140 Harbour Drive

No submissions were received by the deadline date. Therefore, in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act, the public hearing was cancelled.

The St. John's Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 151, 2019, and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 688, 2019, on January 14, 2019, and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
 
The effect of the Municipal Plan amendment would be a text amendment to allow a Craft Brewery/Distillery in the Commercial General, Commercial Highway and Commercial Downtown Land Use Districts.   
 
The effect of the Development Regulations amendment would be: A text amendment to add the definition of Craft Brewery/Distillery and conditions for this use; A text amendment to allow a Craft Brewery/Distillery as a Permitted Use in the Commercial Industrial (CI) Zone, and Industrial General (IG) Zone; and as a Discretionary Use in the Commercial Highway (CH) Zone, Commercial Regional (CR) Zone, Commercial Mixed Use (CM) Zone, Commercial Central Mixed Use (CCM) Zone, Commercial Central Retail (CCR) Zone, and Industrial Quidi Vidi (IQ) Zone. 
 
The amendments are in reference to an application by Project Peat Inc./Wooden Walls Distilling to develop a Distillery at 140 Harbour Drive. In conjunction with the above amendments, the City is advertising the development a 360 m2 Distillery at 140 Harbour Drive as a Discretionary Use. The development will also include a 240 m2 retail/restaurant area and will operate 11 - 1 a.m. Tuesday to Sunday.
