Mother's Day 5km Fundraising Walk

Who: Planning committee comprised of MUN medical students and OB/GYN residents 

What: A 5 km fundraising walk for an organization named 'Save the Mothers.’ The event will include a warm up stretching session, live music, a 5 km walk and refreshments to follow. All registrants will have their name entered in a draw for a gift basket.

When: Sunday, May 12th from 9:00-11:00 AM. Walker registration will begin at 8:30 AM prior to the start of the walk at 9:00 AM. 

Where: Bob Whelan Field in Bowring Park (field across from the swimming pool). 

Why: In support of an organization named 'Save the Mothers.'  This organization funds educational and hospital-based initiatives to decrease the rates of maternal and newborn deaths in the developing world. Every day, over 800 women worldwide will die from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications, and Save The Mothers strives to reduce this number through their work. 

How: Register online at walk.savethemothers.org or in-person from 8:30-9:00 before the walk. Registration is $20/person or $40/family.
