Community Sector Summit - Accelerating Growth

The community sector is central to economic and social progress. Nonprofit groups with their leaders, staff and volunteers, are on the ground everyday providing important services, supporting culture and tourism, creating jobs, innovating and accelerating social and economic growth.

More than ever it is important for us to collaborate in guiding our future. Building regional and provincial networks, working collectively with public and private sectors, advocating for important policies, hearing about national trends and learning skills for sound governance and good management will be on the agenda for the Community Sector Summit.

The Summit is a ground-breaking event which flows from The Way Forward with Community - A Sector Work Plan to Advance the Social and Economic Contribution of Community Organizations in Newfoundland and Labrador released last spring in partnership with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. On Monday October 28, Premier Dwight Ball will participate in conversation about the economic and social contributions of the community sector and to collaborate on how best to action the plan to support nonprofit groups continuing the dialogue and partnership that began with consultations last fall.

If you are a board member, an employee or volunteer, if you work in the public or private sectors, you should attend this Summit. There will be a jam-packed agenda of conversations putting the spotlight on the incredible work of community organizations throughout the province and lots of good learning workshops and challenging conversations.

Come, participate, mingle, network.
