Public talk: Preserving Heritage Skills

When:
Thursday, January 16, 2020 - 7:30pm
Where:
Memorial University, Arts and Administration Building, Room A-1043

Thursday, January 16 join Nature NL for it's first public talk of 2020 in Memorial University's Arts and Administration Building, Room A1043! At this event we will hear from naturalist and writer Felicity Roberts, and Owner and Operator of Cod Sounds, Lori McCarthy.

Lori McCarthy is a well known champion of traditional food and heritage skills. Felicity Roberts has a serious crush on Kingdom Fungi with all its cryptic cousins and a passion for safely incorporating invasive plants into foraging and craft.

Together they explore old ways and new directions with a focus on the winter season, lichens as craft, food and medicine, and how they fit into the larger picture of Newfoundland traditional food and culture.

Free parking is available in Lot 15B (by the Music Building) – but we encourage you to go green! Carpool with a friend, walk or bike, or take the Metrobus!
