Election and Nomination of Candidates for the DDC Board of Management

Pursuant to Sections 10 and 14 (2) of the St. John’s Downtown Business Improvement Area By-Law, the election to the Downtown Development Commission (DDC) Board of Management will take place on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Nominations for the Office of Board Member may be filed with the Returning Officer no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29,  2013. Nomination papers may be picked up at the Office of the City Clerk, fourth floor, City Hall, between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday or at the offices of the Downtown Development Commission, 155 Water Street between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, by e-mail cityclerk@stjohn.ca or by visiting the following website www.downtownstjohns.com.

A BIA Business Levy Clearance letter will be required at the same time you file your nomination papers. In order to obtain the letter you must have paid all outstanding levies in accordance with Section 21 of the BIA By-Law. Payments are to be made with cash, debit or certified cheque only. Please call Revenue Accounting at (709) 576-8054 or (709) 576-8357 to ensure your letter is ready for pickup.
