Humane Services Shelter Closed for NL Pet Expo

On the weekend of May 25 and 26, the City of St. John’s Humane Services Division will take part in the NL Pet Expo and as a result the Humane Services Shelter on 81 Higgins Line will be closed for both days.

If you are looking to add a new furry friend to your family, staff from the Humane Services Shelter will have plenty of adoptable pets available at the NL Pet Expo for residents to view.

The NL Pet Expo is a weekend long event all about pets and will feature exhibits from a variety of pet businesses, as well as adoptable pets from various local rescue and animal welfare groups. The event takes place at the Remax Centre and is open Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Humane Services Shelter will reopen to the public on Monday, May 27. The regular hours of operation are as follows:

• Monday through Friday, 12 p.m., noon to 4 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m.
