Mandatory Covering of Garbage Effective April 1

Residents of St. John’s are reminded that garbage put out for collection in all areas of the City is to be completely covered from April 1 to November 30 each year.
 
Acceptable covers include:

• Metal or plastic watertight containers
• A net or a blanket

 Garbage is not permitted to be put out for collection before 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day.
 
These measures are in place to reduce the amount of litter on streets, parks and open spaces. Please do your part to help reduce litter.
