Public Hearing - 150 Stavanger Drive

The St. John's Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 140, 2016 and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 638, 2016 at its regular meeting held July 12, 2016 and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
 
The effect of the St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 140, 2016, would be to re-designate land located at 150 Stavanger Drive from the Commercial General Land Use District to the Residential Medium Density Land Use District.
 
The effect of the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 638, 2016, would be to rezone land located at 150 Stavanger Drive from the Commercial Regional (CR) Zone to the Residential Compact Lot (RCL) Zone.
 
The amendments are in reference to an application submitted by 11368 NL Limited to develop 20 single detached houses on small lots along a new public street (cul-de-sac). The existing buffer at the end of Stanford Place would remain.

A Public Hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, in Foran/Greene Room, fourth floor City Hall. The Public Hearing will be conducted by an independent Commissioner appointed by Council. Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposed amendments must provide a signed written statement to the Office of the City Clerk by 9 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2016, either by mail: P.O. If no written objections to the amendments are received by the deadline noted, the public hearing for these amendments may be cancelled by the City in accordance with the provisions of the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
