Public Hearing - 24 & 28 Road De Luxe

The St. John’s Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 116, 2013 and the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 577, 2013 at its Regular Meeting held on Sept. 3, 2013 and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.

The effect of the St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 116, 2013 would be to re-designate land located at civic numbers 24 and 28 Road De Luxe from the Residential Low Density Land Use District to the Institutional Land Use District.

The effect of the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 577, 2013 would be to rezone land located at civic numbers 24 and 28 Road De Luxe from the Residential Low Density (R1) Zone to the Institutional (INST) Zone.

The amendments are in reference to an application submitted to the City of St. John’s on behalf of Anglican Homes Inc. to rezone the subject property in order to allow for the future expansion of St. Luke’s Homes. Please note that civic number 24 Road De Luxe includes the original properties of civic number 20 and 26 Road De Luxe as well as civic number 243 Topsail Road.

A Public Hearing  is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2013, 7 p.m. in the Conference Room ‘A’, fourth floor, City Hall. The Public Hearing will be conducted by an independent Commissioner appointed by Council. Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposed amendments must provide a signed written statement to the Office of the City Clerk by 4:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, either by mail: P.O. If no written objections to the amendments are received by the deadline noted, the public hearing for these amendments may be cancelled by the City in accordance with the provisions of the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
