Public Hearing - 90 Duckworth Street

The St. John's Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 141, 2017, and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 650, 2017, on October 16, 2017, and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
 
The effect of the Municipal Plan amendment would be to re-designate 90 Duckworth Street from the Residential Downtown Land Use District to the Commercial Downtown Land Use District.
 
The effect of the Development Regulations amendment would be to rezone the same property from the Residential Downtown (RD) Zone to the Commercial Central Mixed-Use (CCM) Zone.
 
The amendments are in reference to an application by Parlibright Holdings Ltd. to redevelop the property as a brew pub and coffee shop.

A Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 7 p.m., Foran/Greene Room, fourth floor, City Hall and will be conducted by an independent Commissioner appointed by Council. Any person wishing to make a submission on the proposed amendments must provide a signed written statement to the Office of the City Clerk by 9 a.m., Monday,  November 6, 2017, either by mail: P.O. If no written objections to the amendments are received by the deadline noted, the public hearing for these amendments may be cancelled by the City in accordance with the provisions of the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
