Telecommunications - 140 Ridge Road

A Discretionary Use application has been submitted by Eastlink requesting permission to construct an extension to an existing telecommunication tower located at 140 Ridge Road.
 
In accordance with its obligations under the Radiocommunications Act and Industry Canada’s Tower Siting Procedure CPC-2-0-03, the City of St. John's hereby notifies residents in the vicinity of 140 Ridge Road of Eastlinks’ intention to install a height extension consisting of:

  • extension of 7.3 metres to the existing slim monople tower.
  • tower will measure 37.8 metres in height from its previous measurement of 30.5 metres (this is to include the telecommunications antennas, lighting rod and obstruction light).
  • six antennas will be relocated to 36.9 metres from the previous location at 29 metres in height and be sheathed.
  • No work will take place at ground level.
