March 31, 2022 - The City of St. John’s together with the St. John’s Port Authority and industry partners look forward to the safe return of cruise ships in 2022 following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first cruise ship, the Ocean Endeavor will arrive on June 12 with approximately 195 passengers. March 31, 2022 - Due to the warming trend expected at the end of this week, The Loop is closing for the season at the end of the day today, Thursday, March 31, 2022. The Winter Activity Centre at North Bank Lodge in Pippy Park is also closing for the season today. The Loop has had an excellent season with 99 days open. Skating began on December 21 and The Loop was only required to close on two days.
