Downtown Snow Removal Operations Begin Dec. 20

Motorists in the City of St. John’s are advised that nighttime snow removal and street widening operations have begun in the designated downtown area on an as required basis and will continue throughout the winter.
 
Beginning at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 (after midnight on Thursday, Dec. 19) and continuing until 7:30 a.m. snow is scheduled to be removed on:

1. Duckworth Street, from Temperance Street to New Gower Street
2. Water Street, from Waldergrave Street to Prescott Street

All vehicles must be removed from these areas between 12:30 and 7:30 a.m. Vehicles impeding the snow removal operation will be ticketed or removed and impounded at the owner's expense. The impounding fee is $141.25 plus $3 for each day the vehicle is held in storage.
