Permit to Occupy Designated Site - Motorized Mobile Vending Parking Space

The City of St. John’s is accepting applications from persons interested in operating a licensed motorized mobile vending unit for sale of food and non-alcoholic refreshments only from a designated site on Bannerman Road in close proximity to the Bannerman Park Pool House.

The successful applicant will be chosen by random draw from the applications received and will have 10 days from the awarding of the space to enter into a lease with the City for the space ($1500 plus HST per annum). Further, the successful applicant will be responsible to install a separate electrical service for the space should the unit require such (generators are not permitted as a power source). The estimated cost for the electrical service installation will be in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 which includes all necessary hardware and sidewalk replacement.

In addition, the successful applicant will have to comply with the Mobile Vending By-Law and all other applicable legislation including the lease agreement. Should the successful applicant not complete all necessary arrangements with the City to the City’s satisfaction in the time allowed the City may offer the site to the next randomly chosen applicant.

Applications for this site will only be accepted on the designated application form which will be provided, upon request, from the contact referenced below.

Application forms must be submitted to the below no later than 3 p.m. Fri. July 24, 2020.
Public draw for the space will be held immediately following the closing date referenced above at the Regulatory Services Division of City Hall.
