Remembrance Day City Schedule

Residents are advised that due to the Remembrance Day holiday on Monday, Nov. 12 all City offices will be closed. The regularly scheduled Monday City Council meeting will instead be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 4:30 p.m.

Recreation Facilities
On Sunday, Nov. 11, all City of St. John’s recreation facilities will be closed for the day due to Remembrance Day. On Monday, Nov. 12, the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre and Wedgewood Park Recreation Centre are open. All other recreation facilities are closed.

Parking
The City of St. John's will enforce the Parking Meter Regulations on Monday, Nov. 12 as Remembrance Day officially takes place on a Sunday and the Monday holiday is not an observed holiday under the Provincial Shop Closing Act.

Garbage and Recycling Collection
Garbage and recycling collection is unaffected by the Remembrance Day holiday on Monday, Nov. 12. There will be regular garbage (areas 1A and 1B) and recycling (1A) collection during this time.

Residents are reminded that garbage and recyclables are not permitted to be put out for collection before 6 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.

Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility
The Residential Drop-Off at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12 as it is regularly closed on Mondays.

The landfill at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is unaffected by the holiday and will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for commercial users only.

Visitor and Business Information Centres
The City’s Visitor and Business Information Centres at 348 Water Street will be closed Nov. 12.

The Access St. John’s Call Centre is always open and residents with questions or concerns can call 311.
