Cancelled - Public Hearing - Downtown Parking Study

No submissions were received by the deadline date. Therefore, in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act, the public hearing was cancelled.

The St. John’s Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 87, 2013 and the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 494, 2013 at its regular meeting held on April 23, 2013 and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act.

The effect of these amendments would be to implement new parking standards and provisions for the Downtown area based on the recommendations of the Downtown St. John’s Parking Study, prepared by the consulting firm IBI Group on behalf of the City of St. John’s and Downtown St. John’s.

A public hearing to consider the St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment No. 87, 2013 and the St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment No. 494, 2013 will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Foran/Greene Room, fourth floor, St. John’s City Hall. The public hearing will be conducted by an independent commissioner appointed by Council.

The Downtown St. John’s Parking Study and the summary of the proposed amendments to the Municipal Plan and the Development Regulations may be inspected by any interested persons during regular business hours at the City’s Department of Planning, Development, and Engineering, third floor, St. John’s City Hall (business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
