Traffic Interruptions: Annual Downtown Christmas Parade

The City of St. John's encourages residents to take advantage of the park and ride shuttle service as there are a number of temporary traffic and parking restrictions in effect in the City of St. John’s on Sunday, Nov, 24, 2013 for the Downtown Christmas Parade (alternate date: Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013).

Park and Ride Shuttle Service for Parade 
A park and ride shuttle service will be available starting at 10:30 a.m. from the Confederation Building to Bannerman Road and from the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Building on Captain Whelan Drive (at Columbus Drive) to the Mile One Centre.  For more information about the shuttle service you can call the Metrobus Ride Guide at 722-9400 or check out their website at www.metrobus.com.

Dora the Explorer at Mile One
Ticket holders for the 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Dora the Explorer shows at Mile One can also use the shuttle service to Mile One from the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Building. There will be no service for the 4 p.m. show.

Empire Avenue - Forest Road to Quidi Vidi Road – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Factory Lane – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Forest Road - Kings Bridge Road to Empire Avenue – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Cavendish Square/Ordnance Street – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Prescott Street - Gower Street to Water Street – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Queen Street – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
George Street – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Waldegrave Street – 11 to 3 p.m.
Springdale Street – Water Street to New Gower Street – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
George Street West – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

No Parking - Tow Away - in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Any vehicles parked in these areas, or anywhere else that obstructs a roadway or driveway, will be towed at the owner’s expense. 

Viewing Area and Parking for Persons with Impaired Mobility Permits
A designated viewing area will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in front of the Post Office on Water Street, with parking for persons with impaired mobility parking permits on George Street between Queen Street and Adelaide Street.
