Nominations Open for Poet Laureate

The City of St. John’s is seeking nominations for the position of Poet Laureate. Letters of nomination should consider and confirm that the selected poet:

• resides in the St. John’s area;
• has produced a body of work in the academic or commercial press;
• displays literary excellence (e.g. is the recipient of literary awards);
• has the ability to serve as an ambassador for poetry.

Support material may include: books, awards, reviews, other press coverage, etc.

Nominations will be reviewed by a committee who will recommend a candidate for appointment by St. John’s City Council.
