Public Meeting - Ryan's Place

Tue, 2014/01/14 - 7:00pm

A public meeting was held on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 at St. John’s City Hall to discuss the rezoning of property in the area of Ryan’s Place to the Rural Residential Infill (RRI) Zone. Following this meeting, the St. John’s City Council directed that a second public meeting be held at the Goulds Recreation Centre on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 beginning at 7 p.m. to further discuss the proposed rezoning.

If approved, the rezoning would change the standard for development of unserviced residential building lots by reducing the minimum required lot area from 4000 m² (1 acre) to 1860 m² (½ acre) and the minimum required lot frontage along a public road from 45 m (150 feet) to 30 m (100 feet) and permit the subdivision of land and development of several new unserviced residential building lots.

The public meeting will be chaired by a member of the St. John’s City Council. Following this public meeting the proposed rezoning will be referred to Council for consideration.
