On September 28, 2021 residents of the City of St. John’s made their voices heard when they elected a new City Council for the next four years.
The City of St. John’s conducts its election by mail. When the votes were all counted 32,567 residents voted; this was a voter turnout of 47% per cent.
In 2021, the following individuals were elected as St. John’s City Council:
- Danny Breen, Mayor
- Sheilagh O'Leary, Deputy Mayor
- Jill Bruce, Ward 1
- Ophelia Ravencroft, Ward 2
- Jamie Korab, Ward 3
- Ian Froude, Ward 4
- Carl Ridgeley, Ward 5
- Maggie Burton, Councillor At Large
- Sandy Hickman, Councillor At Large
- Ron Ellsworth, Councillor At Large
- Debbie Hanlon, Councillor At Large
The next municipal election in the City of St. John’s will take place September 30, 2025.
