Learning English
Good English language skills are certainly an asset in finding a job and communicating with neighbours and co-workers. The Association for New Canadians offers language instruction for newcomers to Canada (LINC) - a national English as a Second Language (ESL) program delivered by qualified and experienced instructors. There are a number of English as a Second Language programs within St. John's. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has an in-depth listing of grade school courses on the Department of Education website.
