Who's Who in the Inclusion Community
The City of St. John's, Recreation Division encourages and welcomes persons with a disability and/or individuals who require support to participate in our recreation and leisure programs.

The City of St. John's Inclusion Advisory Committee provides information and advice to the City Council Commitee of the Whole on matters of accessibility and inclusion as they relate to City programs, policies and services as referred to it by committees of Council, or as initiated by the Advisory Committee itself.

An assistive hearing system is available within the Recreation Division. TTY/TDD service is available by calling Access St. John's at 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489).
Our staff are qualified, dedicated leaders who focus on providing safe and supportive atmospheres which promotes the importance of inclusion, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
All our staff are carefully screened and require an up to date RNC certificate of conduct, vulnerable sector check, standard first aid, CPR and High Five Certification. Staff also receive comprehensive training in areas relating to safety, child development, program planning, guiding behavior, disability awareness and inclusion. We also have a Special Education Teacher and Social Worker on staff.
