Paid On-Street Parking

There are currently two forms of paid parking, the PayByPhone App and a Pay Station. 

Pay Stations are located on Duckworth Street and Water Street near Queen Street, where Pay By Phone is also available. This program is expanding with the implementation of pay stations on Harbour Drive, and throughout the downtown core, in areas that are currently serviced by PayByPhone and Timed Parking.

Payment in these areas is required Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is free in designated pay areas after 6 p.m. on weekdays, all day Saturdays and Sundays, and all statutory holidays under the Provincial Shops’ Closing Act.

When parking, it is important that motorists look for signage and identify the parking restrictions in that specific area. These may vary by area, date, or time. As the City continues the pay station roll out, updated signage will be posted on the street, followed by paid parking enforcement.
 

Pay Stations

There are seven steps required to make a payment for your vehicle. You need to know your license plate and the zone number before you proceed to the pay station.

• Step 1- After you park your vehicle, look for a sign nearby with a zone number.
• Step 2 - Proceed to the nearest pay station, press any button to activate the screen.
• Step 3 - Select a payment method; tap or insert - tap is available for Debit, Mobile Payment (Apple/Samsung/Google Pay), or a credit card. You can also insert your credit card (not debit).
• Step 4- Confirm your parking zone number. The zone number will be on a sign near your vehicle and on each pay station. Stations will display the zone you are currently in.
• Step 5 - Enter your license plate number; this is on the same screen as the zone confirmation.
• Step 6 - Choose the duration (amount of time you wish to pay for parking).
• Step 7 - Confirm the payment.

You do not need to return to your vehicle with the receipt after the payment is made. The receipt can be printed if you would like a copy.

PayByPhone

PayByPhone app is available on all paid parking spaces in the City, including Harbour Drive, Water Street and Duckworth Street. If you do not want to download the app, the toll-free number to call is 1-866-234-7275. A credit card is required to use PayByPhone.
